Hello everyone!
This week Erik and I will be heading out on a cruise to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary.
Woot! Woot!
I wish I could tell you that we are the people who can just book a vacation without a second thought but we most definitely are not.
Whenever Erik and I accomplish something I have always had people ask me how we do it.
How do we afford it?
How do we find the time?
What's the secret?
Well the answer, however boring it may be, is that we plan and save.

Erik and I used to celebrate our anniversary at a family cabin each year.
It was free and less than an hour away.
After a few years of this I asked Erik if we could start saving for an actual out of town vacation.
The cabin was nice and all but I wanted to be a little more adventurous.
So, we made a game plan.
We created a savings account specifically for vacation savings and transferred a certain amount per paycheck into it.
It took a bit of time to actually get what we needed for a vacation in there but we eventually got it done and were able to go on our first cruise for our three year wedding anniversary.
Whenever I tell people our "secret" of planning and saving they are immediately disappointed.
They don't want to wait.
They don't want to save.
They want what they want and they want it now.
Everything Erik and I have accomplished has been done over time.
This Blog.
Purchasing our house.
Erik's soon to be college degree.
The process has been slow but we have gotten places.
Little steps now mean bigs steps in the future.
So, get to it!
So, get to it!
All my love,
Autumn
